  Bio
Keith Tyrone Thompson was born in Canton, MS on December 15, 1976 to Vertastine Day, a local nurse and Theo Thompson, an original member of the nationally known gospel group The Canton Spirituals. He attended Holy Child Jesus Catholic School at the age of 5 where he participated in a number of musicals as well as other cultural activities. At the age of 12, he transferred to Nichols Middle School, where he developed a fond love for music. After graduating from Nichols, Keith went on to Canton High School where he attended for two years. As his love for music heightened, his interest in school began to diminish. Eventually, Keith decided to drop out and he tried to work several odd jobs. At the age of 17, he began spending time with the wrong crowd. Soon, he was hanging outside the local bars and frequently keeping company with drug dealers. Once he became familiar with this lifestyle, he began to travel on a path that is chosen by many. The money came fast and the trouble with the law came even faster. After a few brief stints in jail, he decided to direct his life toward something more constructive. Music was that avenue. Keith began writing lyrics and purchasing equipment to start his career. Because he was devoting all of his time to his music, his "friends" began to turn away. It was then; when his grandmother who raised him in a Christian manner, encouraged him to strive just that much harder. He eventually formed a group called the Ghetto Hustlers. Keith, along with six friends from his hood started practicing daily at his grandmother's home. Their first performance was at a small club in Canton. After a sequence of partially packed shows, the group dismantled. Performing locally wasn't producing the results that he wanted. So Keith decided to take his act on the road. He changed his stage name to BG High and created his own record label Third Eye Confession Records. He traveled to Atlanta, Texas, California, Chicago and abroad to push his music. With the industry being so widespread and competitive, it was hard for him to land a deal. So BG continued to grind working different jobs, site seeing, and even mountain climbing on one occasion. After a period of time, he grew tired of the club circuit and returned home. Then he dropped his first CD entitled "The Last Generation" which sold quite a few units. His second CD created quite a buzz as well. The public was starting to respond favorably to his music. He performed shows with well known artists such as Boo da Boss Playa, Kamakazee, Cassidy, David Banner and Rick Ross. To his dismay, his rise to stardom had taken off. Today, his most recent single "I'll Be Right Back" is being played all over. At this point he is continuing to produce quality music and spending long hours in the studio. He is relentless and in time he knows there will be reward for his efforts. BG High has dedicated his entire career to his grandmother Janie Thompson who recently passed at the age of 92.
