Shiftless is: Arthur Foxhall Smith, joined from time to time by his wife, Kassie Smith, and other musician friends. Arthur writes all songs, plays all acoustic guitar parts and other instruments sings, and engineers the tracks. Arthur started playing guitar and singing at 17, and has spent most of his musical \"career\" as a solo performer, playing fairly brief stints with bands while in college in Springfield, MO. Arthur has performed at many small venues in Southwest and Southeastern Missouri, and one or two in Arkansas. Arthur\'s music is influenced my many musical styles, and defies strict classification. Personal favorites include: U2, The Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, Seal, Poi Dog Pondering, Crash Test Dummies, Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, Sting, and the list goes on. Arthur just began recording this year, and uses a SoundTech powered mixer and his computer.
